1978 - Creation of DIGIPROJECTO Electronics, Projects Ltd that was in the genesis of the ALARCOM, Private Security, Ltd.
1978 - DIGIPROJECTO conceived and launched one of the first fully electronic alarms central units in Portuguese market, based on the advanced 4001 IC integrated circuit.
1979 – The company launched and conceived a new version of the alarm central unit. This new version was based on the integrated circuit 4011 IC, more powerful than the 4001 IC from the previous generation.
1979 - DIGIPROJECTO sells one of the first CCTV systems (Video-surveillance) with transmission through the telephonic line, a reference project in the Banking sector in Portugal, at the time.
1979 - Conception, development and introduction of an electronic system to perform as access control and anti-lifting system.
1979- Development of backup power system based on cadmium-nickel cells to face power cuts for a North American computer company National Cash Register (NCR).
1980- The telecommunication terminals market is open to private initiative in Portugal, the governmental PTTs (Telefones de Lisboa e Porto (TLP) e Correios, Telégrafos e Telefones (CTT)) start loosing the monopoly of the sector. DIGIPROJECTO is invited to elaborate projects in the field of telecommunications, namely telephone switching systems and terminals.
1982 – Collaboration with the prestigious R&D state sponsored institute INESC Lisboa, dedicated to the advancements of electronics and computer systems, in view of the introduction of telephone terminals with technology of Portuguese base into the market. In this same year, the company firms its installation in Torres Vedras.
1986 – ALARCOM trademark is registered and the company is created to cope with a new legal framework dealing with private security companies.
1987 until the 90s – From 1987 towards, the two companies run business in diverse but complimentary fields, ALARCOM focused on the private security market and DIGIPROJECTO dealing exclusively with the development of telecommunications solutions. In the 1990s ALARCOM consolidated its growth as a specialized company in global security solutions, helping in the creation of a competitive environment in which the final consumer is the ultimate beneficiary. In view of creating more added benefits to its costumers ALARCOM was at the leading front in establishing partnerships with several international companies for the Portuguese market.
1998 – Alteration of the Portuguese legal framework drops the need of special licenses from the government to work on electronic private security, in this context DIGIPROJECTO and ALARCOM merge into a single company, ALARCOM, Private Security, Ltd.
2006 – After almost 30 years of activity in the field of electronic security, and more than 20 years as ALARCOM, and being recognized by its tricolor trademark logo, the company that was from the beginning at the leading front of the digital revolution launches its website, www.alarcom.pt. Enabling one more channel to communicate and interact with its clients.
